The MN Governor’s Fishing Opener (Stillwater on the St. Croix River)

Governor Tim Walz has officially announced that the 78th Minnesota Governor’s Fishing Opener will be hosted in Stillwater on the St. Croix River on May 8-9, 2026. This will be the first time the city of Stillwater has hosted the event, which serves to promote Minnesota’s tourism industry and celebrate the state’s fishing opportunities.
